Vipul Mehta

One of the Top 10 finalists of Indian Idol 2012, the greatest musical reality show on Indian television, Vipul Mehta has his roots in the city of Amritsar, Punjab and belongs to a business family. Vipul had always wanted to be a singer and appeared in the reality show Amul Star Voice of India four years back. He is a singer by profession and has made his way into the Top 10 in the latest season of Indian idol with his talent and dedication.

Vipul Mehta was born into a business family with well based enterprises in Amritsar, but never wanted to join the family legacy. His father, Mr. Mukesh Mehta used to be a good singer in his early days but couldn’t realize his dreams of becoming a playback singer due to lack of opportunities. He is completely supportive of his son’s wishes. Vipul did his schooling and graduation from Amritsar before leaving for Mumbai and becoming a professional singer trying to struggle his way into the playback industry. Vipul wants to be a sound designer besides being a singer so he is currently learning sound design.

Family holds a very significant place in Vipul’s heart and he treasures his father and grandfather. He had been training in classical singing since he was 8 years old and now he has an ability to sing all kinds of song. His versatility makes him a powerful contender for the title. Vipul Mehta auditioned in Delhi singing ‘nasha hi nasha’ by Sukhvinder Singh and got the call to Mumbai within moments by the judges’ trio. Vipul personally admires the works of Laxmikant Pyarelal, R.D.Burman and A.R.Rehman. Among the judges he likes Salim Merchant the best because of his melodious compositions, This 22 year old guy is a great fan of Mohd. Rafi and completely idolizes him.

Vipul has no other hobby or passion except singing and he devotes his every waking moment to music. He wants to be a music composer, arranger, singer all-in-one and is crazy about cars. He often visits showrooms and take test drives of the car he likes. With great pitch and professional experience in singing, Vipul has the potential to go high up in the show. He is self-employed in Mumbai at the moment, but his dream of becoming a playback singer is already in the process of becoming a reality, backed with the blessings of his father and family.
